NRP News: NRP Convenes Food Sector Partners

The Nantucket food sector met for a collaborative work session in April. Topics included the NRP’s “Food Security Scorecard” research project with consultant Process First as well as a food system gap analysis project to follow.

Brian Lenane, NRP Board member, updated the group on a series of collaborative grants recently applied for including local, state and federal applications.

NRP President Brooke Mohr gave an overview of the concept of an island-wide pilot food fund which would allow for sharing of resources (including human resources, infrastructure, and funding sources). A Nantucket food fund also allows for more impactful and collaborative messaging, outreach, events and fundraising.
